Post: 5.6-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Near Ogasawara Islands, Japan

Tokyo:A 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck off the west coast of Japan's Ogasawara Islands on Monday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Japan Meteorological Agency reported the earthquake occurred at a depth of approximately 500 kilometers. There have been no immediate reports of casualties or material damage following the quake.

In a related event, a 6.5-magnitude earthquake also struck Japan's Bonin Islands the previous night. Japan's location at the junction of four tectonic plates contributes to its frequent seismic activity. The country is also home to 100 active volcanoes, further increasing its vulnerability to natural disasters.
