Doha: Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, met with US officials to discuss strategic relations. The meeting took place with HE US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Peninsula Affairs, Daniel Benaim, and HE China Coordinator and Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of East Asia and Pacific Affairs, Mark Lambert, who are currently visiting the country. According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions focused on the close strategic relations between the two countries and explored ways to support and strengthen these ties. Developments in the region and a number of issues of common interest were also on the agenda. The meeting was attended by HE Acting Director of the Department of American Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jassim bin Mohammed Al Asmakh.
