Afghanistan Floods Kill 61

Kabul: At least 61 people have been killed and 116 injured in floods and natural disasters across Afghanistan, authorities said, with four still missing. Spokesman of the Caretaker Government Zabihullah Mujahid reported that days of heavy rain triggered widespread flooding that damaged or destroyed 2,448 homes and forced road closures, disrupting movement and aid delivery. Officials have warned that further severe weather could cause additional damage.

According to Qatar News Agency, a separate 5.9-magnitude earthquake killed eight people in Kabul after a house collapsed, with no other casualties reported.
