Al-Mujadilah Center Concludes Inaugural Summer Camp for Girls in Qatar

Doha: Qatar Foundation's Al-Mujadilah Center, in collaboration with Ajial Educational Center, has successfully concluded its inaugural summer camp for girls, themed 'A Heart Pulsing with Faith and a Mind Striving for Excellence'. The camp, known as the Khawlah Girls Club Summer Camp, hosted 16 girls, providing them with an opportunity to strengthen their religious connections while fostering intellectual and life skills, appreciation of Islamic values, and authentic Arabic identity. The program was primarily targeted at girls aged 10-14 years.

According to Qatar News Agency, the camp is part of Al-Mujadilah's broader initiative to support Muslim women of all ages. Kholood Nooh, Head of Programs at Al-Mujadilah, emphasized the importance of focusing on girls when designing offerings. In addition to the summer camp, the center has also launched the second edition of its Ri'aya Young Adult Stewardship Program. This program, delivered in partnership with local and international organizations such as Education Above All's Al Fakhoora program, QF's Akhlaquna, and Paragon Corp, has expanded its reach significantly.

The Ri'aya program received over 700 applications from Qatar, Indonesia, Nigeria, Germany, and beyond, with 21 girls selected to participate. Concluding on August 23, 2025, this two-week leadership program aims to equip young women with the skills necessary to meet the challenges of their generation. Mahveen Azam, Policy and Partnerships Manager at Al-Mujadilah, highlighted that these collaborations are integral to enhancing the leadership journeys of young Muslim women in Qatar and beyond, including those displaced from Gaza.

Additional summer programs in 2025 featured a variety of religious, developmental, and social initiatives. These included Dr. Hanan Al Qattan's public lecture series 'For the Heart that Awakens', Intensive Hifth classes by Amani Allouh and Tahani Allouh, and the 'Tatreez: Weaving Heritage' workshop. This summer marks a successful 18 months since Al-Mujadilah was established, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing Muslim women's Islamic knowledge and engagement.

Dr. Sohaira Siddiqui, Executive Director at Al-Mujadilah, expressed pride in the center's accomplishments since its opening in February 2024. She emphasized the importance of expanding Al-Mujadilah's global outreach to enhance Muslim women's access to quality education and provide them with the tools necessary to engage meaningfully in discussions about their experiences on the world stage.
