Post: Al Shahaniya Clinches First Victory in Doha Bank Stars League

Doha: Al Shahania recorded their first victory of the Doha Bank Stars League after defeating Al Sailiya 3-2 in their match at Lusail Stadium today, concluding the second round of the competition.

According to Qatar News Agency, Sven van Beek, Francesco Antonucci (penalty), and Abdallah Traore scored Al Shahania's goals in the 6th, 23rd, and 57th minutes, respectively. Meanwhile, Kellian van der Kaap and Salem Al Sufiani scored for Al Sailiya in the 51st and 90+5th minutes, respectively.

This victory awarded Al Shahania their first three points after a 2-1 defeat to Al Gharafa in the opening round, moving them up to fifth place in the standings. They are ahead of sixth-placed Al Gharafa on goal difference, with both teams having three points.

The other second-round matches saw Al Sadd defeat Al Shahania 6-2, Al Rayyan beat Al Wakrah 2-1, and Al Shamal defeat Al Gharafa 3-1, while Al Ahli drew 3-3 with Lusail and Al Duhail drew 1-1 with Al Arabi.

Al Sadd currently tops the standings with six points, ahead of second-placed Al Rayyan on goal difference. Al Shamal sits in third place, while Al Duhail is fourth with four points each. Al Shahania is fifth and Al Gharafa sixth with three points each, followed by Al Arabi in seventh with two points. Al Wakrah, Lusail, Al Ahli, and Qatar SC occupy eighth through 11th places with one point each, while Al Sailiya remains 12th and bottom without a point.
