Gaza: Secretary General of Amnesty International Agnes Callamard has made a grave accusation against Israeli occupation forces, claiming they are committing a "live-streamed genocide" against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
According to Qatar News Agency, Callamard revealed in a report that Amnesty International has documented what it describes as genocide by Israel in Gaza. She explained that Israel's system of apartheid and the illegal occupation of the West Bank have led to escalating violence. Callamard stated that the international community has been a mere spectator as Israel has killed thousands of Palestinians, including entire multigenerational families, and destroyed homes, livelihoods, hospitals, and schools.
Moreover, the Secretary General highlighted the increasing attacks on the International Criminal Court (ICC) following its provisional measures orders in a case brought by South Africa against Israel. The ICC also issued an advisory opinion declaring the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, illegal. Callamard emphasized the need for all governments to support international justice, hold perpetrators accountable, and protect the ICC and its staff from potential sanctions.
