Muscat: The 24th Arab Conference: Modern Methods in Hospital Management concluded in the Omani capital on Thursday, with delegates calling for greater integration among government, private, and non-profit sectors to ensure fair access to healthcare services.
According to Qatar News Agency, the conference, organized over two days by Oman's Ministry of Health and the Arab Administrative Development Organization of the Arab League, recommended that governments identify service gaps for the private and non-profit sectors to address, whether in specific specialties or underserved geographic areas.
Participants also urged the development of effective national and regional disaster-response systems based on multi-sector cooperation, including shared early-warning platforms and crisis-management mechanisms. They proposed regular simulation exercises to test preparedness and clarify roles across sectors.
The conference further highlighted the need to strengthen awareness of preventive healthcare and to embed health in all policies, calling for a stronger focus on preventive spending and the creation of an Arab health insurance network under the Arab Administrative Development Organization to unify efforts and facilitate the exchange of expertise.
