Cairo: Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit met with Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Libya Al Taher Al Baour to discuss the situation in Libya and regional and international efforts to advance the political process.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the meeting, Aboul Gheit reaffirmed the Arab League's readiness to support the Libyan people in finding appropriate solutions within a framework that ensures Libyan ownership and leadership of the political process.
The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation presented the Government of National Unity's vision regarding developments in Libya. He stressed the importance of the Arab League playing an active and effective role in contributing to Libyan reconciliation and placing the country on the path toward unity and stability.
