Doha:Aspire Zone Foundation and Guyana Football Federation (GFF) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at supporting and developing football in Guyana.
According to Qatar News Agency, the agreement will focus on the development of youth teams and grassroots football programs, as well as the exchange of technical and coaching expertise. Additionally, it will explore new commercial partnership opportunities between the two organizations.
The MoU was signed at Aspire Zone Foundation's headquarters in Doha by Acting CEO Abdullah Nasser Al Naimi and GFF President Wayne Forde. Under this agreement, Aspire Zone Foundation will provide support for Guyana's Under-14 and Under-17 teams, offering technical and coaching assistance, player development, and performance assessment. The possibility of holding training camps at Aspire's facilities in Doha is also included, contingent upon program agreements and facility availability.
Abdullah Nasser Al Naimi commented on the agreement, emphasizing Aspire Zone Foundation's commitment to achieving sporting excellence and its pleasure in working with the GFF to enhance football in Guyana. He highlighted the importance of exchanging expertise, identifying talent, and strengthening the football ecosystem in the country.
Wayne Forde highlighted that youth development is central to the GFF's mission. He noted the historic success of Guyana's Under-14 team in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Challenge Series and expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Aspire Zone Foundation to further develop players' skills through professional football programs. Forde also expressed appreciation for the partnership with Aspire and looked forward to continued cooperation to create meaningful opportunities for the next generation of Guyanese footballers.
Aspire Sports Consulting and Management (Kotinos) will lead advisory services under the memorandum, including an assessment of Guyana's football ecosystem and the identification of development opportunities. They will also prepare a roadmap covering the agreed areas of cooperation.
The MoU underscores the commitment of both Aspire Zone Foundation and the GFF to support the ongoing development of football in Guyana, promoting the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and fostering opportunities for long-term collaboration.
