Attacks in Nigeria Kill 60 People

Abuja: At least 60 people were killed in armed attacks in northwestern Nigeria. Local authorities reported that at least 20 people were killed in the town of Irina in the Shiroro area of Niger State. At the same time, gunmen carried out deadly raids on several towns in Kebbi State, leaving more than 40 others dead.

According to Qatar News Agency, several Nigerian states are facing a security crisis, with armed gangs looting villages, kidnapping residents, and spreading fear. Moreover, there is an active presence of militant groups in the northwest seeking to expand their influence southward. The increasing violence in these regions has raised concerns about the effectiveness of security measures and the ability of the authorities to protect residents from these frequent and deadly attacks.
