Awqaf Ministry Participates in 38th GCC Meeting of Permanent Committee of Specialists in Islamic Affairs, Endowments

Doha: The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs took part in the 38th meeting of the Permanent Committee of Specialists in Islamic Affairs and Endowments within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. This significant assembly brought together key stakeholders to discuss strategic developments and collaborations in the field of Islamic affairs and endowment management.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry's delegation was led by HE Undersecretary Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al-Thani. Accompanying him were Mohammed Jabr Al Mannai, the Director of the Department of Islamic Affairs, and Eng. Abdullah Al Meer, the Assistant Director General of the General Department of Endowments. Their participation underlined the ministry's commitment to fostering regional cooperation and knowledge exchange in Islamic affairs.

The meeting agenda included a wide array of topics, with member states presenting working papers and proposals. Discussions centered on the exchange of scientific research and experiences in endowment fields, organization of interactive seminars, and presentation of national experiences in Islamic affairs. The assembly also addressed initiatives such as the Gulf Endowment Week, and evaluated standards and guidelines essential for imams to enhance their roles in society. Additionally, the Intellectual Security Charter for Mosque Imams and associated Monitoring Indicators were important points of discussion.

A notable contribution was a working paper on the philosophy of energy attraction and the integration of artificial intelligence in Islamic affairs. Technical guidelines for constructing and developing mosques were also reviewed, reflecting a forward-thinking approach towards the modernization of religious practices and infrastructure.
