Azerbaijan: Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, met with Italy's Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, who is visiting Baku. During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations across various fields, as well as several regional and international issues of mutual interest.
According to Qatar News Agency, in joint remarks to the press after the meeting, Aliyev stated that political relations between the two countries had reached their highest levels, adding that trade ties were also progressing excellently, reinforcing economic links between Baku and Rome. He highlighted that Italy ranks as Azerbaijan's largest trading partner worldwide.
Meloni, for her part, mentioned that she had reviewed with the Azerbaijani president ways to further consolidate ties between the two countries, emphasizing the need to expand the scope of their cooperation.
