Manama, The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has released its Q2 2024 Foreign Trade report, which encompasses data on Trade Balance, Imports, national origin Exports and Re-exports.
As per the report, the value of non-oil imports has decreased by 4%, reaching BD1410 million in Q2 2024 in comparison with BD1469 million for the same quarter in 2023. The top 10 countries for imports recorded 68% of the total value of imports.
According to the report, China ranked first for imports to Bahrain, with a total of BD191 million (14%), followed by Brazil with 157 million (11%) and Australia with 112 million (8%).
Non-Agglomerated Iron Ores and Concentrates were recorded as the top product imported to Bahrain with a total value of BD200 million (14%), followed by Other Aluminum Oxide with BD101 million (7%) and Parts for Aircraft Engines being the third with BD41 million (3%).
On the other hand, the value of non-oil exports (National Origin) has decreased by 6%, reaching BD894 million in Q2 2024 in compar
ison with BD949 million for same quarter in 2023. The top 10 countries accounted for 64% of the total export value.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first among countries for non-oil exports (National Origin) with BD201 million (22%). The United States of America was second with BD75 million (8.4%) and The United Arab Emirates was third with BD73 million (8.2%).
Unwrought Aluminum Alloys were recorded as the top products exported in Q2 2024 with BD267 million (30%), followed by Agglomerated Iron Ores and Concentrates Alloyed with a value of BD159 million (18%) and Aluminum Wire not Alloyed with BD49 million (5%).
The total value of non-oil Re-exports increased by 4% to reach BD206 million during Q2 2024, compared to BD198 million for same quarter in 2023. The top 10 countries in Re-exports accounted for 86% of the re-exported value. The United Arab Emirates ranked first with BD58 million (28%) followed by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with BD39 million (19%) and United Kingdom with BD17 million (8%).

he report, Turbo-Jets was the top product re-exported from Bahrain with a value of BD65 million (32%), followed by Private Cars BD11 million (5%), and Four Wheel Drive came third with BD9 million (4%).
As for the Trade Balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, the deficit recorded BD310 million in Q2 2024 compared to a deficit of BD322 million in Q2 2023.
