Beijing: China's foreign trade in yuan-denominated terms grew 16.9% year on year in May 2026. The General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) reported on Tuesday that the total value of goods imports and exports reached 4.45 trillion yuan (about $653 billion) last month, maintaining a level above 4 trillion yuan for three consecutive months.

According to Qatar News Agency, exports rose 13.8 percent compared to the same period last year, while imports saw a significant increase of 21.5 percent. This growth highlights the robust activity in China's foreign trade sector.

Furthermore, in the first five months of the year, the cumulative foreign trade value amounted to 20.68 trillion yuan, reflecting a 15.3 percent increase year on year. This consistent upward trend underscores the ongoing expansion of China's trade activities.
