Doha: China's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 5.3 percent year on year in the first half of 2025.
According to Qatar News Agency, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed that China's GDP reached approximately 66.05 trillion yuan, equivalent to about 9.24 trillion US dollars, in this period. In the second quarter of the year, the country's GDP expanded 5.2 percent year on year.
China's crude oil output increased by 1.3 percent year on year, reaching 108.48 million tonnes in the first half of 2025, according to the NBS. Additionally, the data indicated a 5.4 percent rise in raw coal output, totaling 2.4 billion tonnes during the same timeframe.
The tertiary industry saw a 5.5 percent year-on-year expansion in the first half, outstripping a 3.7 percent increase in the primary industry and a 5.3 percent rise in the secondary industry. In the first half of 2024, China's industrial output increased by 6.4 percent compared to the same period the previous year, with notable growth in equipment manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing sectors.
