Chinese, Norwegian Foreign Ministers Focus on Strengthening Ties and Middle East Peace

Beijing: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Tuesday with his Norwegian counterpart, Espen Barth Eide, who is visiting Beijing, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as the latest developments in the Middle East.

According to Qatar News Agency, during their meeting, the two sides agreed to enhance the alignment of their development strategies, expand bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, maritime affairs, green development, and innovation, and create a stable business environment for companies from both countries.

Regarding the situation in the Middle East, the two ministers agreed on the necessity of implementing the ceasefire agreement, stressing that the international community, especially countries with influence over the conflict parties, must provide the necessary support to achieve a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire.

They also called for support for the Palestinian Authority.
