Colombia: At least 18 people were killed and dozens were injured in two separate attacks in Colombia attributed to dissident factions of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), authorities said. In Cali, the country's third-largest city, a cargo vehicle packed with explosives detonated near a Colombian Aerospace Force base, killing six people and injuring 71 others, according to the mayor's office.
According to Qatar News Agency, earlier the same day, a National Police Black Hawk UH-60 helicopter taking part in a coca eradication operation was shot down in the municipality of Amalfi, in the Antioquia department, leaving 12 officers dead. Colombian President Gustavo Petro blamed both attacks on FARC dissident groups that rejected the 2016 peace agreement, which sought to end decades of armed conflict that has claimed more than 450,000 lives.
