Hong kong: The death toll from a massive fire at a residential complex in Hong Kong last week has risen to 151, authorities said on Monday. A police official confirmed the number of confirmed fatalities but cautioned that it could rise further.

According to Qatar News Agency, Hong Kong's authorities have launched an in-depth probe into the incident, resulting in the arrest of 13 people. Investigators are examining the possible use of flammable materials, including bamboo scaffolding commonly used in the city.

The fire broke out last Wednesday at the Wang Fuk Court residential complex, which consists of eight buildings housing around 2,000 apartments in the Tai Po district. It is considered one of the deadliest residential fires worldwide since 1980.
