DOHA: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning about potentially hazardous weather conditions, with strong winds and high seas expected both inshore and offshore. The forecast indicates moderate to relatively cold temperatures during the day, with occasional slight dust and cloud cover.
According to Qatar News Agency, the department’s daily weather report highlighted the risk of strong winds at certain locations throughout the day. Inshore wind speeds are predicted to be northwesterly at 10-20 knots, with gusts reaching up to 28 knots in some areas. Offshore, the wind is expected to be northwesterly at 15-25 knots, gusting to 32 knots at times.
The sea state is another area of concern, with inshore wave heights ranging from 3 to 5 feet. Offshore, waves are expected to be between 4 and 8 feet, potentially rising to 10 feet by late night. Visibility is forecasted to be between 4 and 9 kilometers both inshore and offshore.
The meteorological department advises caution for those engaging in outdoor activities and maritime operations, as the conditions pose risks for both.
