Department of Meteorology Warns of Strong Wind and High Sea Tonight


DOHA: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning for strong winds and high seas tonight, with conditions expected to persist until 6:00 a.m. on Thursday. Inshore weather will include some clouds and colder temperatures by night, while offshore conditions will feature scattered clouds and the potential for scattered rain.



According to Qatar News Agency, inshore wind speeds are anticipated to be northwesterly, ranging from 10 to 20 knots and gusting up to 25 knots at times. Offshore, wind speeds will be northwesterly as well, ranging from 15 to 25 knots with gusts reaching up to 32 knots.



Visibility is projected to remain between 4 to 8 kilometers. The sea state inshore is expected to range from 3 to 5 feet, while offshore conditions will see seas from 4 to 8 feet, potentially surging to 10 feet at times. The Department of Meteorology advises caution for seafarers and residents in affected areas.
