Doha: HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani held a meeting with HE Minister of Defense of the Federal Republic of Somalia Ahmed Moallim Fiqi on the sidelines of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2026). The discussions centered around topics of mutual interest and explored avenues for enhancing and developing these areas.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting resulted in the signing of a cooperation agreement aimed at bolstering joint cooperation, serving mutual interests, and enhancing defense partnerships between Qatar and Somalia. This agreement underscores the commitment of both nations to strengthen their defense ties.
The meeting and signing ceremony were attended by HE Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces Lieutenant General (Pilot) Jassim bin Mohammed Al Mannai, along with several senior officers and officials, marking a significant step in the defense relations between the two countries.
