Gaza: Director General of the Government Media Office in Gaza, Ismail Al Thawabta, reported that two million displaced people in the Gaza Strip are living in extremely difficult conditions due to their forcible displacement following threats from the occupation forces. These individuals are confined to an area that does not exceed one-tenth of the Strip's area. According to Qatar News Agency, Al Thawabta highlighted that the displaced people are facing severe challenges as winter begins. They are living in torn and uninhabitable tents, with rainwater seeping in and ruining their belongings and clothes. The Gaza Strip has been experiencing a severe low pressure since yesterday, leading to a drop in temperatures and heavy rains across several areas. Strong winds have damaged the tents in refugee camps, and sea waters have flooded those set up along the coastline in central and southern Gaza. Al Thawabta explained that due to the ongoing aggression and the continued war of genocide, the number of displaced peo ple is steadily increasing as they move to escape Israeli bombardment and killings. He noted that there are 543 shelter and displacement centers in the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli occupation's crime of forcible displacement, which forces Palestinians to flee their homes and safe neighborhoods. He stressed that this is a crime that violates international law. He also emphasized that more than 74% of tents have become unfit for use, with government field assessment teams reporting that 100,000 out of 135,000 tents are now unusable after 11 months of displacement under inhumane conditions. Al Thawabta condemned the Israeli occupation's crimes of forcibly displacing Palestinians to areas unprepared to accommodate them, where they live in unsuitable tents and unsafe, inhumane conditions. The ongoing war of genocide waged by the Israeli occupation on Gaza since October 2023 has resulted in the complete destruction of infrastructure and services.
