Doha: The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) is preparing to hold its graduation ceremony for the ninth cohort of master's students on May 17 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). The event will celebrate the achievements of an expected 220 graduates, including 150 from the School of Social Sciences and Humanities and 70 from the School of Economics, Administration, and Public Policy.
According to Qatar News Agency, Dean of Student Affairs at the DI, Dr. Ibrahim Freihat, stated that the ceremony marks a significant milestone in the academic journey of the Institute and serves as a celebration of the students' efforts. Dr. Freihat emphasized the DI's commitment to supporting scientific research across its disciplines, highlighting the Institute's dedication to offering high-quality education and training, which has resulted in the graduation of eight prior cohorts, totaling 1,419 graduates.
Since its inception, the Institute has focused on adopting advanced international academic standards, preparing students for further studies at top global universities and enhancing their prospects of acquiring outstanding academic and professional experiences. Dr. Freihat underscored that the Institute's vision is to provide a comprehensive educational environment that fosters research and academic skills, while also supporting personal and professional growth.
Director of the Communications and Public Relations Department and Vice Chair of the Graduation Ceremony Committee at the DI, Nassima Abdeen, explained that the preparations for the ceremony are in their final stages. Abdeen noted that the working teams are committed to ensuring the event meets students' expectations and reflects their achievements. She emphasized the importance of providing a celebration that honors the graduates' dedication and perseverance, affirming the committee's dedication to delivering an exceptional experience.
Abdeen further clarified that the Graduation Committee is coordinating all organizational and logistical aspects of the event, including preparing the program, selecting speakers, arranging guest reception, and distributing awards. The goal is to deliver a ceremony that leaves a lasting, positive impression on the graduates and their families, while also reflecting the DI's spirit and academic values.
