Papua New Guinea: An earthquake measuring 4.6 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Papua New Guinea on Monday. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 60 kilometers from the city of Kimbe, at a depth of 63.9 kilometers, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
According to Qatar News Agency, no casualties or material damage have been reported due to the earthquake. Papua New Guinea is located within the so-called Ring of Fire, a region along the Pacific coast known for its high levels of earthquake and volcanic activity. This area includes 90 percent of the world's active volcanoes.
