Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, emphasized the necessity for intensified regional and international collaboration to reinforce the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Their discussion on Tuesday also focused on transitioning to the second phase of the agreement.
According to Qatar News Agency, a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted Abdelatty's emphasis on the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza's residents. He also stressed the importance of launching early recovery efforts and initiating reconstruction. Furthermore, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's opposition to actions that could threaten the unity of Palestinian territories, notably ongoing Israeli violations in the West Bank.
Addressing the situation in Sudan, the Egyptian Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of advocating for a humanitarian truce that leads to a comprehensive ceasefire. He stressed the need to uphold Sudan's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity while supporting its national institutions. Abdelatty also underscored the importance of providing safe havens for the Sudanese people and ensuring their unfettered access to humanitarian aid.
