Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati discussed in a phone call with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Sunday, the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and Syria.
According to Qatar News Agency, Abdel Aati emphasized the critical need for continued regional and international efforts to secure an immediate ceasefire and ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. He stressed the importance of Israel halting its policies towards the Palestinian people and condemned the systematic targeting of Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure and hospitals, describing it as a violation of international and humanitarian law.
Regarding the developments in Syria, Abdel Aati highlighted the necessity for a comprehensive political transition process that is nationally owned and free from external impositions, contributing to Syria’s security, stability, and territorial integrity.
For his part, the US Secretary of State expressed his country’s appreciation for the role played by Egypt in achieving security and stability in the region.
