Cairo: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer engaged in a phone conversation to discuss regional and international developments, focusing on the situation in Gaza and Sudan, as well as exploring opportunities to enhance bilateral relations.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Presidency released a statement highlighting that the leaders emphasized the importance of leveraging the momentum from the recent UN Security Council resolution on Gaza. They discussed the necessity of solidifying the ceasefire, promoting de-escalation, ensuring the continuous flow of humanitarian aid, and accelerating reconstruction efforts in the region.
The UK Prime Minister underscored the importance of delivering adequate humanitarian assistance to the residents of Gaza. He stressed the need for comprehensive measures, including encouraging more international humanitarian organizations to contribute to relief efforts.
In relation to Sudan, both leaders focused on the urgent need to intensify efforts to halt the ongoing conflict and achieve stability. They agreed on the importance of coordinated actions to bring about calm and stability in the broader region.
