Egyptian, Somali Presidents Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations, Regional and Continental Developments

Doha: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his Somali counterpart Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who is visiting Egypt, discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and developments in the regional and continental situations. President El-Sisi, in a joint press conference with his Somali counterpart following extensive discussions, affirmed both sides' commitment to advancing the strategic partnership to serve the interests of both countries. He noted the agreement on enhancing political, economic, security, and military cooperation.

According to Qatar News Agency, the two sides also discussed a host of bilateral and regional issues of common interest, most notably the security and political situation in the Horn of Africa and Red Sea security. They emphasized the need to continue consultation and coordination on various relevant issues.
