Doha: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and US President Donald Trump discussed the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, along with various mutual, regional, and global issues, during a phone conversation held on Saturday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Presidency stated, "The call fostered a positive discussion between the two Presidents, underscoring the critical importance of advancing the implementation of the first and second phases of the ceasefire agreement, and ensuring the stabilization of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. This agreement was facilitated through the mediation efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and the United States. Additionally, the call emphasized the urgent need to increase the delivery of humanitarian aid and relief to the residents of Gaza."
The statement further noted that the phone conversation stressed both countries' strategic relations, highlighting the need to further strengthen economic and investment relations, in addition to cooperating in the field of water security. The call also highlighted the commitment to achieving peace and stability in the Middle East.
