Egypt’s Foreign Minister and US Envoy Collaborate on Gaza Ceasefire Efforts

Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and US Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, engaged in a phone discussion on Thursday regarding the concerted efforts of Egypt, the United States, and Qatar to rapidly establish a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. The discussions prioritized ensuring unfettered access to humanitarian aid to mitigate the distress of civilians in the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, Abdelatty highlighted the urgency of achieving a lasting and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. He stressed that such a resolution should fulfill the aspirations of the region's peoples for enduring peace, security, and stability. Abdelatty also underscored the significance of maintaining the current negotiation process as a crucial opportunity to secure calm, avoid further escalation, and prevent additional instability in the region.
