The General Directorate of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, in cooperation with the Qatar Autism Society, announced the launch of an initiative to support 120 cases of people with autism, with the aim of developing their abilities and motor growth, with the help of the waqf bank dedicated to the family and childhood, the waqf bank for health care, and the waqf bank for scientific and cultural development.
In this context, HE Director General of General Directorate of Endowments Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Thani stressed during a press conference held in conjunction with the World Autism Awareness Day, the Directorate’s keenness through the endowment banks, to fulfill the conditions of endowment donors through community partnerships with various agencies, indicating that the General Directorate of Endowments is the strategic partner of the Qatar Autism Society.
His Excellency said that the strategic partnership between the General Directorate of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and the Qatar Autism Society comes with the support of the waqf bank dedicated to the family and childhood, the waqf bank for health care, and the waqf bank for scientific and cultural development to serve an important segment of society, namely people with autism spectrum disorder and to help the Qatar Autism Society in playing its role of serving and caring for them.
HE Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Thani praised Qatar Autism Society’s vital role, considering the fruitful cooperation between both sides as an embodiment of the Directorate’s slogan: endowment is a community partnership, as well as being a clear example of the role of endowment in community development.
In a related context, Vice-President of the Qatar Autism Society Saad Muhammad Ali Al Ghanem expressed his deep appreciation for endowments’ influential role in the course of the Directorate’s work and its success, expressing his sincere thanks to the honorable endowment donors, who gave their money to the endowment bank for health care.
Al Ghanem indicated during the press conference that the number of Qatar Autism Society service beneficiaries stands at more than 950 people with autism spectrum disorder, benefiting from the Society’s various services, as well as its morning and evening courses and lectures.
The Qatar Autism Society is located in Al Qutaifiya with a land area of 1,225 square meters, consisting of two floors, a swimming pool, activity venues, and a number of rooms that are used to teach manual skills, in addition to administrative offices.
