Riyadh: European stock indices closed higher at the end of today's trading, recording their largest daily gain in more than two weeks. The pan-European Stoxx 600 index ended the session up 0.9 percent, reaching its highest level in a week. According to Qatar News Agency, the European banking sector index rose 2 percent to its highest level since 2010, while the insurance sector index increased by 1.6 percent to a record high. The European technology sector index also climbed 1.7 percent. Germany's DAX index closed up 1.11 percent, France's CAC 40 gained 0.97 percent, and Swiss stocks ended the session up 0.8 percent, while the UK's FTSE 100 fell 0.69 percent at the close.
