European stock markets stabilized at the start of trading today. The European Stoxx 600 index rose by 0.1% to 516.28 points, after reaching its highest level this month in the previous session. The index is on track to rise for the third consecutive week, marking the longest weekly winning streak in nearly five months. Meanwhile, the UK FTSE index increased by 0.3%. The oil and gas sub-index gained 0.7%, boosting the Stoxx 600 index due to rising oil prices. Additionally, automotive stocks rose by 0.6% after the Chinese Ministry of Commerce met with car manufacturers to discuss increasing tariffs on large-engine vehicles that run on gasoline.
