Executive Director of the Standing Committee for Organizing Conferences: Doha will witness hosting important international conferences next year

Doha – Information Office – Mubarak bin Ajlan Al Kuwari, Executive Director of the Permanent Committee for Organizing Conferences, revealed that the State of Qatar will witness the hosting of important and influential international conferences next year, in the context of its commitment to providing platforms for constructive and open dialogue between leaders, policy makers and thinkers.

His Excellency said, in a statement to Qatar News Agency, that the Doha Forum, the most prominent political event in the region, will return in its twentieth edition on March 26-27 under the title (Transformation into a New Era) under the kind patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The Emir of the country, and the forum will discuss the urgent challenges facing the world, especially in this critical period that is still witnessing the spread of coronavirus mutant and its effects on the political, economic and social aspects.

Al-Kuwari added that a number of heads of state and government, politicians, parliamentarians, thinkers and representatives of the media are expected to participate in the forum, which is being held in attendance for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, which makes the forum a real opportunity for frank dialogue between various sectors to reach viable solutions to global challenges.

He also referred to Doha’s hosting of a number of conferences in 2022, including the United Nations Conference for Least Developed Countries and the Sixth Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, and the dates of these conferences will be announced soon.

The Executive Director of the Standing Committee for Organizing Conferences stressed that the Committee pays special attention to communicating with the public and the media about conferences held in the country, where details can be followed up on time, such as registration method, agenda and participants through the Committee’s accounts on Twitter and Instagram via the following identifier: @pcocmofa and Doha Forum accounts @ dohaforum.

Regarding the holding of conferences in light of the continuation of the Corona pandemic, Al-Kuwari indicated that the Permanent Committee is in constant contact with the competent authorities in the country to implement the necessary controls and precautions to limit the spread of the virus, which are applied to all participants and attendees in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health and the concerned authorities in the country.
