Tangier: The first edition of the Mediterranean Meetings is scheduled to take place in Tangier, Morocco, from June 19 to 22. This event marks the beginning of an international gathering that celebrates literature and music, offering a diverse range of activities including readings, concerts, roundtable discussions, meetings with publishers, poetry performances, and visual arts exhibitions.
According to Qatar News Agency, the event will commence with a tribute to the renowned Moroccan Mediterranean writer, Tahar Ben Jelloun. This tribute will include readings from his acclaimed works, testimonials from fellow writers, and a comprehensive review of his literary contributions. In addition to honoring Ben Jelloun, the event will also feature engaging roundtable discussions on topics such as languages, borders, exile, and hospitality, as well as musical readings and interactions with publishing houses.
