France: France's annual inflation rate rose to 2.4 percent in May, up from 2.2 percent in April, driven mainly by higher energy prices, official data showed on Friday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the national statistics agency INSEE reported that energy prices climbed 16.8 percent year-on-year, supported by rising gas prices.
Food prices remained stable at 1.2 percent, while services rose 2 percent annually. Manufactured goods fell 0.6 percent, and tobacco prices increased 3.2 percent.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent in May, while the eurozone's harmonized inflation rate rose to 2.8 percent from 2.5 percent in April.
