GCC Commends Qatar’s Role in Colombian Peace Agreement

Doha: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) praised the pioneering and constructive role played by the State of Qatar, alongside its international partners, in reaching the Doha agreement to solidify the commitment to peace between the government of the Republic of Colombia and the self-proclaimed EGC group.

According to Qatar News Agency, GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi confirmed that Qatar's efforts are an extension of a steadfast approach in supporting peace processes and resolving conflicts through peaceful means. He noted that this reflects the international standing of the State of Qatar and its active role in supporting regional and international security and peace.

Al Budaiwi expressed his deep appreciation for Qatar's diligent diplomatic efforts, constructive dialogues, and facilitation to create a conducive environment for the talks and build confidence among the various parties.
