Post: GCC Condemns Targeting of Saudi Tanker in Strait of Hormuz

Ramallah: The Gulf Cooperation Council strongly condemned Iran's targeting of the Saudi tanker (SIDR) as it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, which resulted in deaths among the tanker's crew.

According to Qatar News Agency, GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi stated that the attack constitutes a dangerous escalation and a grave violation of the principles of international law. He emphasized that this act represents a direct threat to the security and safety of international maritime navigation, putting regional security and stability and global trade at risk.

He further stressed that the GCC countries stand in solidarity with Saudi Arabia in all measures aimed at safeguarding its security and interests.
