Doha: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) reaffirmed its unwavering stance in supporting the Palestinian cause, the sovereignty of the Palestinian people over all territories occupied since June 1967, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and ensuring the return of refugees in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and international legitimacy while rejecting any unilateral actions.
According to Qatar News Agency, GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi emphasized that the two-state solution remains a fundamental guarantee for achieving lasting peace and stability. He highlighted the efforts of the "Global Alliance for Implementation of the Two-State Solution," which works in coordination with Palestinians and international and regional partners to achieve a fair and permanent peace for the Palestinian cause.
Al Budaiwi also noted that the joint ministerial contact group, formed by the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation during the extraordinary Arab and Islamic summit chaired by Saudi Arabia, is actively working to end Israeli aggression on Gaza, halt attacks in the West Bank, support the Palestinian people's resilience, and back Palestine's efforts to gain broader international recognition and full United Nations membership.
