Doha: Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met with Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, during his visit to Iraq. The meeting focused on the evolving regional and international situation, with particular attention to developments in the region.
According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions underscored the importance of prioritizing diplomacy, de-escalation, respecting nations' sovereignty, and resolving disputes through peaceful means. These approaches are considered vital for strengthening regional security and stability.
The conversation also aimed at advancing the bilateral relationship between Iraq and the GCC, focusing on common interests. Albudaiwi conveyed a Gulf message to the Iraqi Foreign Minister, highlighting a range of mutual interests.
He emphasized the importance of moving forward with practical steps to enhance bilateral relations through joint coordination.
