GCC Urges Global Community to Facilitate Aid Access to Gaza Strip

Doha: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi has underscored the urgency for the international community to take immediate action to compel Israeli occupation forces to open crossings and allow the unrestricted entry of humanitarian and relief aid into the Gaza Strip.

According to Qatar News Agency, the GCC Secretary General highlighted that the declaration of famine in the Gaza Strip by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) signifies the severe and unlawful starvation tactics employed by Israeli forces against Palestinians in the region. The situation has reached catastrophic levels, demanding swift intervention.

Albudaiwi reaffirmed the unwavering stance of GCC countries in backing the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. He emphasized the importance of lifting the blockade, ensuring the opening of all crossings for aid entry, and guaranteeing the continuous supply of essential goods to the population in Gaza.

He also called for international protection for Palestinians, urging respect for international law, humanitarian law, and relevant Security Council resolutions. The need to avoid targeting civilians and adhere to legal frameworks without exception was also stressed.
