Gold prices rose on Tuesday and hovered near a record high hit in the previous session amid uncertainties around the US election, ongoing Middle East tensions, and expectations of central banks' interest rate cuts. Spot gold rose 0.5 percent to USD 2,732.44 per ounce. US gold futures rose 0.3 percent to USD 2,746.20 per ounce. Gold hit an all-time high of USD 2,740.37 on Monday and has gained more than 32 percent since the start of the year. Among other precious metals, spot silver rose 0.9 percent to USD 34.05 per ounce after hitting its highest level since late 2012 in the previous session, platinum rose 0.6 percent to USD 1,006.87 per ounce, and palladium rose 1.1 percent to USD 1,062.59 per ounce Source: Qatar News Agency
