Gold Retreats from Nearly 4-Week Peak

Doha: Gold prices fell on Tuesday, retreating from near a four-week high. Spot gold fell 0.3% to $3,369.98 an ounce after hitting its highest level since May 8, 2025, earlier in the session, while US gold futures were steady at $3,390.

According to Qatar News Agency, the metal gained about 2.7% in the previous session, marking its strongest daily performance in more than three weeks. In contrast, spot silver saw a decline of 2.1%, falling to $34.07 an ounce. Meanwhile, platinum was showing similar trends.

The fluctuations in precious metal prices come amid a complex global economic landscape, with investors closely monitoring market trends and economic indicators. Analysts suggest that the recent gains and subsequent decline reflect ongoing market volatility and investor sentiment.
