Post: Gulf Cup: QFA Announces Qatar’s Squad for Tournament

Doha: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) today announced the squad selected to represent the national team at the Gulf Cup, which will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from Sep. 23 to Oct. 6. Spanish head coach Julen Lopetegui has named a 24-player squad for the tournament, including three goalkeepers: Salah Zakaria, Meshaal Barsham, and Mahmoud Abu Nada. According to Qatar News Agency, the squad also includes Ahmed Alaa, Ahmed Fathy, Akram Afif, Ayoub Al Alawi, Edmilson Junior, Jassem Gaber, Sultan Al Brake, Tarek Salman, Assim Madibo, Issa Laye, Abdulaziz Hatem, Tahseen Mohammed, Naif Al Hadhrami, Mohammed Manaei, Homam Al Amin, Almoez Ali, Yousef Abdulrazak, Hashim Ali, Hassan Al Haydos, Boualem Khoukhi, and Pedro Miguel. The draw for the 27th Gulf Cup placed Qatar in Group B, alongside the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Yemen. Qatar will begin its campaign against defending champions Bahrain in the opening round on Sep. 24 at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium.
