Toronto: A gunman killed two people and injured five others in a shooting in Toronto, Canada, prompting a manhunt by Canadian police. In a statement on X platform, Toronto police urged residents to avoid the area and follow police instructions before later announcing that the scene was under control.
According to Qatar News Agency, local media reported that the shooting occurred in an area with numerous shops and restaurants, coinciding with an entertainment festival. This incident comes weeks after a shooting in Montreal in which two people, including a police officer, were killed before law enforcement killed the attacker.
In February, the town of Templer Ridge in western Canada also witnessed a shooting at a school, resulting in the deaths of eight people and injuries to 27 others.
