Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF) will organise Khalid bin Hamad MMA Open Championship on June 22.

This championship is part of the “KOMBAT KINGDOM” tournament, which is hosted by Bahrain until June 23. It includes the Brave International Championship in its 71st and 72nd editions, and the first course MMA judges and referees certification, which is ogranised by Brave CF and BMMAF, and sanctioned by the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Confederation (AMMAC).

Mohammed Ali Qamber, president of BMMAF and AMMAC extended his thanks for the continuous support of HH Shaikh Khalid for MMA, promoting it on an international level, and enabling Bahrain to top international rankings in this sport.

He also thanked HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Sports Authority and President of Bahrain Combat Sports Council for his efforts to develop combat sports, including MMA.

All of this contributed to the growth of the MMA scene in Bahrain, and giving the kingdom a regional and international lead in this sport, he said.

“The Khalid bin Hamad Mixed Martial Arts Championship 2023 comes within a series of tournaments held annually by the federation, which provides an opportunity for Bahraini talents to compete and rise to represent Bahrain in various sports forums,” he said.
