Seville: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met with HM King Felipe VI of Spain at the Royal Palace in Seville during a dinner banquet held for heads of state and government attending the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), organized by the United Nations.
According to Qatar News Agency, HM King Felipe VI welcomed HH the Amir, expressing his gratitude for accepting the invitation. His Majesty highlighted Qatar's significant role in supporting development, referencing the upcoming Fourth World Summit for Social Development that Qatar will host in 2025. He expressed a desire to strengthen relations through agreements and cooperation, emphasizing the importance of supporting joint bilateral investments, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises.
In discussing security matters, HM the King reiterated Spain's solidarity with Qatar and condemned the Iranian attack on Al Udeid Air Base, commending HH the Amir's efforts in facilitating a ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel.
HH the Amir emphasized Qatar's commitment to advancing relations with Spain, focusing on enhancing cooperation in cultural, educational, and security sectors to benefit both nations. The meeting explored key topics from the conference agenda, including international cooperation for development financing, and examined ways to further strengthen the bilateral relationship amid regional and international developments.
The meeting included several members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Amir, as well as senior Spanish officials.
