HH the Amir Meets GCC Foreign Ministers Amid Regional Tensions

Lusail: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met on Tuesday in his office at Lusail Palace with Their Highnesses and Excellencies Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), on the occasion of their visit to the country to participate in the 49th Extraordinary Meeting of the GCC Ministerial Council.

According to Qatar News Agency, at the outset of the meeting, HH the Amir expressed gratitude to the fellow leaders of the GCC states for their solidarity and support for the State of Qatar. He also appreciated their strong condemnation of the Iranian attack on Al Udeid Air Base, highlighting it as a violation of Qatar's sovereignty and airspace, as well as international law and the United Nations Charter.

The GCC Foreign Ministers, in turn, affirmed their countries' solidarity with Qatar. They labeled the attack as a violation of Qatar's sovereignty and a direct threat to the security of all GCC states. They reiterated that the security of the GCC states is indivisible and emphasized their united front with Qatar in confronting any threats to its security and territorial integrity.

The meeting also covered discussions on enhancing joint Gulf action mechanisms and exchanging views on key regional and international developments of mutual interest. The focus was on maintaining regional stability and security, emphasizing diplomatic and peaceful solutions to various issues.

HH the Amir wished the ministers success in their meeting, hoping for outcomes that would enhance regional stability and security. HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani attended the meeting.
