Major General, Abbas Ibrahim, on Tuesday welcomed Russian Federation Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov, at his office in Beirut.
The meeting addressed recent developments in both the regional and international arenas, particularly focusing on the escalating and concerning incidents of Israeli-perpetrated assassinations alongside intensified military attacks, raising the specter of a widened conflict.
The discussions notably emphasized the prevailing situation along Lebanon’s southern borders, highlighting Israel’s persistent violations of Lebanese sovereignty and its disregard for UN Resolution 1701.
There was an urgent call for international intervention to halt Israel’s war on Gaza and Lebanon, a conflict that has resulted only in the loss of civilian lives, including children and journalists.
