Doha: The President of the International Snooker Federation praised the 2025 World Snooker Championship hosted by Qatar, describing it as a complete success both technically and organizationally.
According to Qatar News Agency, Mubarak Al Khayarin commended the Qatar Billiard Sports Federation for its role in developing and promoting the sport globally and regionally. He highlighted the exceptional quality of this year's tournament, noting strong performances from top-ranked players and surprising early exits of past world champions, including Iran's Amir Sarkhosh and Pakistan's Muhammad Asif.
Al Khayarin emphasized Qatar's ability to host major sporting events, pointing to the seamless coordination in accommodations, logistics, and match organization. He also singled out Qatari player Ali Al Obaidli's second-place finish as a major achievement, praising his high-level performances throughout the tournament.
He added that Qatar continues to play a key role in the development of snooker internationally and across Asia, with the national team showing remarkable progress.
